I’m getting that sense of deja vu again. Every March I get the same feeling…anticipation …excitement….glory. Of course I’m talking about the Cheltenham Festival and the prospect of untold winners and bountiful profit. I don’t know why I get this feeling – it’s probably a bit like West Ham fans and their pretty bubbles….. they fly so high, they reach the sky, and like my dreams, they fade and die ! One year I even failed to back a single winner! But we won’t let a little fact like that temper our optimism now will we?
Last week we got a red hot tip for a horse called Coneygree. It was 16/1 and we decided to throw the kitchen sink at it. Off I traipsed round all the betting shops around London to back him until my shoes wore away (well not quite but you get the picture). Of course on Saturday he got injured after his best ever piece of work and he won’t run! Thank God for “no runner money back”! You’d think this might dampen my enthusiam a little but not a bit of it. Pretty bubbles are flying high. And I know you feel the same way. So this week’s question is simply “How many winners are you going to back at Cheltenham this week?”
Answer this week’s poll and leave a comment with your Twitter username to be in with a chance of winning an Irish Open satellite token. Special appreciation will be awarded to comments with the greatest bravado and totally misplaced optimism, regardless of the chasm between that person’s opinion and the actual reality of events.
Congratulations to Dave Clayton, (@BenBulben40 on Twitter) for winning last week’s poll. (I did laugh – there could only really be one winner
)

Last year I had such a bad year that i had no winner up until the very last race. I only had d winner in that race cause for the 1st time ever I used the tactic of closing me eyes and taking a lucky dip with my finger on the page.username is funkyplunkers
I have no skill, talent or luck with the ponies, so I’ll be lucky to get through the week losing only the minimum, I should probably tweet my bets so you know who to avoid, @fiercelyacute
I’ve voted 8 or more but then I’m an optimist. Right fellas, this is the god’s honest here. Just had a phone call to say that JP McManus fancies his Shutthefrontdoor (Thursday, Pertemps Final hurdle) strongly. Apparently (and I don’t know how this will work) it will drift then be backed in by JP’s money. Who told me this? I promised not to say but he was told by McManus himself. Ok, so it’s 2nd fav and all his horses have a chance but this is the one he thinks WILL win. I’m seeing 8′s in places. As always my friends- Caveat emptor. Good luck. I just hope the boys in the trading room don’t read this blog :-0 @BenBulben40
