Disturbing news for me this week. QPR climbing off the bottom of the table spells danger for yet another one of my major long term Premiership bets. With Mark Hughes in charge I grabbed some of the 2/1 on them being relegated while still bottom. But then disaster – they fired him! Under Harry Redknapp QPR are just 6 points from safety now and with some not exactly world class teams in their immediate vicinity they are still odds on to go down….but I’ve got a bad feeling about this one.
I’ve given Harry some stick in the past but one thing I’ve never accused him of is being a bad manager of the lesser teams. He is actually quite good at that. Like I say, I’ve got a bad feeling but I’ll use this week’s poll to gauge the mood. If the public vote is a thumbs up for Harry, I’ll just give up all hope now. “Can Harry Redknapp save QPR from relegation this year?”

Congratulations to @pcbunter for winning last week’s poll.
Surely they’re out… Redknapp is smart to say the next few games will decide their season. If qpr are to make a comeback in the 2nd half of the season, they need to get a players from Man U, Man C, etc on loan,If they go down, no long term financial commitment was made.@djdoc2001
I agree Harry is usually excellent at managing basement dwellers to safety but his heart doesn’t seem to be in it this year he’s wearing a more woe-begone expression than usual.and QPR might be the worst squad he’s been faced with.also this year the big teams have fewer players they’re willing to loan than usual making it harder to bring in fresh blood on short term risk.
They wont make it imo.they will finish 2nd from bottom ahead of qpr and will be joined by wigan.@pcbunter
No chance (fingers crossed). I see that the huge Pro Redknapp press are weaving their “magic”. In an article this week it states how brilliant ‘Arry is at working magic with underachieving players like Taraabt and turning them into world beaters. The same Redknapp who showed Taraabt the door at Spurs? The same Redknapp who couldn’t get a tune out of Kevin Prince Boeteng and who now is one of the best midfielders in Serie A? Harry Redknapp who was going to, and I kid you not, loan Gareth Bale out to Nottingham Forest had Assou-Ekotto not got injured and he had to play him at LB and only moving him up to left midfield/wing when BAE came back and he didn’t know what else to do with him. Redknapp did some good things with us while at White Hart Lane but he is a chancer and bullsh*tter and if he told me it was 1pm I’d ring up the speaking clock to check. Merry Christmas, one and all
