Phil Ivey – friend of the working man? (Part V of V)

This week we’ll be looking at the reason Phil Ivey has boycotted the 2011 WSOP

But first things first: The password for this week’s Friday’s Freddie Mays Bounty Tournament at 8pm tonight is:

And now this week’s Caption Competition. Staying on topic:

I’m going to end this Phil Ivey legal action article with Full Tilt’s side of the story. This is their statement:

“Contrary to his sanctimonious public statements, Phil Ivey’s meritless lawsuit is about helping just one player – himself. In an effort to further enrich himself at the expense of others, Mr. Ivey appears to have timed his lawsuit to thwart pending deals with several parties that would put money back in players’ pockets. In fact, Mr. Ivey has been invited — and has declined — to take actions that could assist the company in these efforts, including paying back a large sum of money he owes the site. Tiltware doubts Mr. Ivey’s frivolous and self-serving lawsuit will ever get to court. But if it does, the company looks forward to presenting facts demonstrating that Mr. Ivey is putting his own narrow financial interests ahead of the players he professes to help.”

This was issued the day after Ivey’s lawsuit was filed and you can almost feel the ill will. They even accuse him of thwarting pending deals with the timing of his lawsuit and accuse him of owing them money!

I have to say that although Full Tilt are massively to blame regards the non-payment of funds, they have definitely got the moral high ground here.  So to conclude, Phil Ivey you are a massive degenerate. Clearly you believe the hype and you need to get a grip. You probably do think you can walk on water. Tell you what, why don’t you go and try?

I remember saying to somebody long before Black Friday that I would bet on Phil Ivey going broke at 100-1. This was when he the world was his oyster, he was earning God knows how much from Full Tilt and worth about $100m by some estimates.

It’s all about the craps. If you’ve got a gambling addiction, there really is no sum of money that can cushion you from going broke, even if you are the best poker player in the world. Stuey Ungar died skint and that’s a lesson to everyone.  It’s obvious that the Full Tilt well has dried up and they haven’t paid him for a while. But they now claim he even owes them money.

That price just went to about single figures.

By the way congratulations to glavman who won last week’s Caption Competition. The winning caption for this lopsided couple was: ”So im having the water for starter, the dog for main course and guess what for desert?” (smiling at Gerri)

Well done gavman. More of the same next week.
